Chocolate Fondue for Valentine’s Day

Valentine’s Day and chocolate go together like peanut butter and jelly.

But heart-shaped boxes filled with mystery chocolates can be expensive, and to be honest, are so boring and overdone.

An easy and memorable way to treat your special someone is with chocolate fondue.

The best part about chocolate fondue is that it is easy and fast, and you automatically get brought close together over the chocolate pot.

Have more than one Valentine?

No worries!

It can be for two or ten if you want to make it for a few friends or your kids. You may not want to add liquor if having with kids though, so replace that with coffee or vanilla.

High-Quality Fondue Chocolate

Quality fondue starts with quality chocolate, so I recommend these high-quality chocolate callets:

If you decide to use white chocolate, try this recipe with almonds. You can also experiment and add your own twist to the standard recipe below.

Dark Chocolate Fondue for Valentine’s Day

0.35 kg(12 oz)Dark or Semi-sweet Chocolate
160 ml(2/3 cup)35% Cream (Whipping Cream)
30 ml(2 tbsp)Liquor of choice (optional, may use vanilla or coffee)
Fresh Fruit and Dessert Bites as Dippers

1. In a double-boiler over low heat, warm the cream until nearly boiling.

2. Add the chocolate a little at a time. Stir until smooth.

3. Add the liquor (or other flavoring) and keep stirring.

4. Once all the ingredients are warmed and well mixed, transfer the mixture into your chocolate fondue pot or a small Crockpot.

5. If your mixture is too thick, add more cream or liquor. If the mixture is too runny, add more dark chocolate.

6. Light the unscented tealight.

7. Put a piece of fruit onto a fondue fork and dip it into the chocolate fondue.

8. Enjoy and repeat!
